THE YOUNGER VERSION OF ME
The younger version of me was shy, lacking self-confidence, self-belief & self-worth.
The younger version of me was a people pleaser.
The younger version of me was the person with no boundaries.
The younger version of me was unable to speak up.
The younger version of me was fearful of most things.
The younger version of me was worried about what others said or thought of me.
The younger version of me would not ask for help.
The younger version of me was anxious in social and many other situations.
The younger version of me disliked her body.
The younger version of me disliked her looks.
In fact the younger version of me liked very little about herself!
Does any of this sound familiar?
Many women spend years thinking similar thoughts & act in similar ways to how I used to.
Putting others first, family, partners, friends etc., and as we got older nothing change, we continued to do the same thing. It’s called a habit, one that needs to change.
We don’t realise that if we don’t start to put ourselves first we can’t do as good a job at serving others, when our own cup is empty.
It’s best to fill your own cup first and if you have time and energy left after that you can help others. In that way everyone benefits and you’re not left feeling exhausted, unloved, angry or frustrated.
So, think about what makes you happy, what do you want to do or achieve and make time to do those things.
Happiness is an individual pursuit. Other people, things or events do not make you happy, they add to your happiness. If you rely on other people or things to make you happy, what happens if they disappear?
Your happiness disappears too, does it not?
Create your own happiness within you & don’t spend your life creating other peoples happiness, let them create their own.
This is your life & you get to create it how you want it. Don’t give that power to others – you will end up living the life they want, not the one you want.
Is their happiness worth more than yours? I think not.
However, it’s never too late to change, to start filling your own cup. It’s not selfish it’s necessary for a happier & more fulfilled life.
